Shop server: the first day
The order a jeweller follows from installation to the first receipt and the first night backup. No technical knowledge is needed; every step is a button in the app or on the server page.
Last updated: 2 September 2026. For server version 0.3.0 and later.
1. Install
From the download page, download the installer that suits the shop computer (Windows, Mac or Linux) and run it. When installation finishes, the server page opens in the browser by itself; if it does not, type localhost:4600/admin in the address bar.
2. Activate
A code and a QR code appear on the server page. On your phone, in the Zer Bazaar app, go to Settings → Local Server → Activate Server, enter the code or scan the QR code, and pick the branch. When the page says "Active", the server is connected to your shop.
3. Connect the phone
While the phone is on the shop Wi-Fi, the Settings → Local Server screen finds the server by itself; tap "Connect". On the first connection the server's identity is saved to the phone; on the following days it connects by itself. Local screens do not work in a web browser; the installed app is required.
4. Enter the stock
Local Server → Local stock: add products (by piece or by gram), then post the entry. Stock is kept on the shop machine; even if the internet goes down, your list opens.
5. Issue the first receipt
Local Server → Local sale: pick the product from stock, enter the amount, take the payment (cash, card; lira, dollars and euros can be mixed) and issue the receipt. VAT is included in the price. If you sell on credit, first open a customer card in Local accounts; in the payment window tap "Put the rest on account".
6. Backup and key
Every night at 03:00 the server takes its own backup, verifies it and encrypts it. From the Backups section of the server page you can tap "Back up now" at any time and download the backup to a USB stick. Write down the backup key in the Encryption section somewhere safe: it is the only way to open the backup on another machine. Keep disk encryption on your computer switched on (FileVault on Mac, BitLocker on Windows).
7. If something goes wrong
Press the "Download diagnostic file" button on the server page and send us the file; it contains no passwords, only the version and recent records. When a server update is released, the same page tells you; before you tap "Install and restart" it takes a backup by itself.
This page is an installation guide. The shop is responsible for its data: keep your backup key safe and keep disk encryption on.
